Job summary

The Specialist Staffing Group is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Nuclear Design Engineer for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. This on-site role supports a major power uprate initiative with a focus on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control components.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of nuclear plant design or regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry's design process (post-2018).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; able to work across teams.
  • Must be eligible for unescorted access to a nuclear facility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support design efforts for power uprate modifications.
  • Verify engineering analyses and calculations (electrical and mechanical).
  • Serve as frontline design checker for design deliverables.
  • Interface with design providers (vendors, architect-engineering firms) and plant personnel to gather input.
  • Utilize ETAP, ANSYS, and STAAD or Stroodle for analyses.
  • Support procurement via early-stage evaluations to enable timely purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Implementation Engineers, and Design Engineers across disciplines.
