Job summary

TerraPower is seeking a Criticality Safety Engineer to join the Natrium Fuel Design and Supply team in Bellevue, WA. You will develop and implement safety analyses for fuel fabrication, storage, and transport, applying Monte Carlo methods and NRC-accepted standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of nuclear criticality safety experience.
• Experience with Monte Carlo neutron transport methods.
• Familiarity with NRC regulations and ANSI/ANS-8 standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop nuclear criticality safety evaluations for fuel fabrication steps, storage, and transport.
• Perform criticality safety calculations using SCALE/MCNP/Serpent.
• Establish controls to ensure subcriticality under various conditions.
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory responses for NRC.
