Job summary

Framatome North America is seeking a senior engineering professional to lead analyses on pressure boundary components, performing hand calculations and finite element analyses for normal and faulted conditions. The role emphasizes continuous learning and operating within a dynamic environment with opportunities to tackle diverse design, development, and field tasks.

You will review department work products, risk assessments, and failure analyses while proposing autonomous solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or Physics/Engineering Tech/Engineering Science per position)
Minimum of 5 years related experience
Advanced knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Div 1
Nuclear industry experience
Professional Engineering license
Strong understanding of fatigue (high and low cycles)
Reactor Vessel internals knowledge
Finite Element Analysis experience (ANSYS)
Good communication skills to convey detailed technical data
Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Advanced problem identification and leadership characteristics
Proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.

Responsibilities

Perform analyses including hand calculations and finite element calculations of pressure boundary components for normal and faulted conditions.
Work is dynamic with constant learning and development.
Tackle complex non-standard engineering assignments in design, development, analysis, testing, and field tasks.
Independent review of department work products, risk assessments, Apparent Cause Analyses, FMEA, etc.
Propose solutions and work autonomously on most assignments and solutions.
Ensure compliance with government regulations and engineering standards.
Apply techniques and criteria using judgement for new adaptations.
Develop new or adapted products, methods, systems or models for added value.
Understand impact of work on internal and external teams.
Work on special projects as directed.
Suggest process improvements.
Participate in technical communications with internal customers.
