Job summary

NAC International is seeking an Applied Mechanics Engineer at our Peachtree Corners, GA headquarters. The role involves advanced analyses for transport, storage, transfer, and handling systems, with a focus on nonlinear transient LS-DYNA and ANSYS evaluations.

The position requires a Master’s in mechanical engineering, 5+ years of FEA experience (including explicit LS-DYNA), and strong engineering judgment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years' experience performing finite element analyses.
• Minimum three years' experience with explicit FEA using LS-DYNA.
• Experience with ANSYS Mechanical/Workbench.
• Nuclear industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document applied mechanics analyses for transportation, storage and handling systems.
• Create finite element models and analytical methodologies for structural/dynamic evaluations.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, and licensing documentation.
• Support licensing activities with NRC, DOE, CNSC, etc.
• Interface with regulators, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
