Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Lead Auditor to own our nuclear QA audit program under ASME NQA-1 guidelines. You will plan the annual audit schedule, lead internal and supplier audits, write reports, and verify corrective actions to closure with object evidence.

The role requires NQA-1 Lead Auditor qualification (or within 90 days), 5+ years in nuclear QA, and experience auditing to 10 CFR 50/21/NQA-1. Travel and strong report writing are essential.

Qualifications

• Current qualification as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor, or qualifiable within 90 days: documented training in auditing, participation in audits, and a written examination per NQA-1 Part II Subpart 2.23.
• 5+ years in nuclear quality assurance with hands-on auditing to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
• Working knowledge of construction materials testing, special inspection, or geotechnical services strongly preferred.
• ASQ CQA a plus.
• Writes audit reports that an NRC inspector could follow without a conversation.
• Comfortable delivering findings to the people who caused them.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain the audit schedule for the nuclear QA program: internal audits and supplier audits per the program requirements.
• Lead audits end to end — notification, checklist, entrance meeting, evidence collection, findings, exit meeting, and report.
• Evaluate and audit suppliers of safety-related items and services; recommend changes to approved-supplier-list.
• Perform surveillances; classify findings, issue corrective-action requests, verify effectiveness, and close with evidence.
• Maintain lead-auditor and auditor qualification records and support audits of our program.
