Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Lead Auditor to own and run the audit program under the nuclear QA framework. You will plan the annual schedule, lead internal and supplier audits, and write final reports with supporting evidence.

The role requires NQA-1 Lead Auditor qualification (or qualification within 90 days) and 5+ years in nuclear QA, with experience auditing to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and 10 CFR 21. ASQ CQA is a plus. Travel to project sites and Sugar Land HQ is expected.

Qualifications

• Current qualification as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor, or qualifiable within 90 days: documented training in auditing, participation in a minimum number of audits, and a written examination per NQA-1 Part II Subpart 2.23.
• 5+ years in nuclear quality assurance, with hands-on auditing to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
• ASQ CQA a plus; writes audit reports that an NRC inspector could follow without a conversation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain the audit schedule for the nuclear QA program: internal audits of every applicable NQA-1 requirement and supplier audits.
• Lead audits end to end — notification, checklist, entrance meeting, objective evidence, findings, exit meeting, report — and supervise auditors and technical specialists.
• Evaluate and audit suppliers of safety-related items and services; recommend additions/removals to approved-supplier-list; perform surveillances.
• Classify findings, issue corrective-action requests, verify effectiveness, and close with evidence.
• Maintain lead-auditor and auditor qualification records and support external audits of the program.
