Job summary

HYDAC TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION in Schaumburg, IL, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the 2nd shift to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes supporting New Product Introduction (NPI). You will provide hands‑on shop floor support, troubleshoot production issues, and drive improvements in productivity, quality, and cost.

The role requires a degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering and strong knowledge of GD&T, CAD/CAM, SolidWorks, and problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Apply engineering principles, logical and scientific thinking to solve complex problems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes, APQP.
• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation (GD&T).
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, fixture and tooling design, and materials knowledge.
• SolidWorks, Windows, Word, Excel; Minitab is a plus.
• Root cause analysis and structured problem solving.
• Ability to read and interpret technical docs and regulations.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Independent work and multi‑project management capability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and commission manufacturing processes for NPI and production transitions.
• Provide hands‑on engineering support on the shop floor and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop processes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost.
• Identify cost‑reduction and continuous improvement opportunities (workflow, tooling, equipment).
• Ensure processes meet design, engineering, quality, and manufacturing standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve issues.
• Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Monitor progress and communicate status and recommendations.
• Maintain engineering docs and process instructions.
• Promote continuous improvement, safety, quality, and operational excellence.
