Job summary
L2x Talent Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Mount Prospect, IL area to advance sheet metal fabrication and assembly operations. You will design and optimize workstations, fixtures, and tooling, and manage MBOMs and routings to support new product introductions.
You will troubleshoot on the factory floor, read GD&T from blueprints, and drive CAPA/RCAs while collaborating with engineering, quality and production teams to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree and 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in sheet metal/fabrication.
- Hands-on, on-floor troubleshooting to improve processes.
- Ability to read GD&T, blueprints, SOPs and process sheets.
- Experience creating/managing BOMs, MBOMs, ECOs and ECNs in ERP/MRP.
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to fabrication and assembly.
- Experience with NPI activities and CAPA/RCAs.
Responsibilities
- Design and modify workstations, fixtures, and tooling for production.
- Support sourcing of assembly machinery, FAT, and capital requests.
- Develop and improve metal fabrication and assembly processes.
- Lead PFMEA and risk assessment activities using 8D/DMAIC.
- Own MBOMs and manufacturing routings in ERP/MRP.
- Train operators and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
