Job summary

Pentair plc in Apex, NC is seeking an NPI Mechanical Engineer to lead the end-to-end New Product Introduction process for high-volume production. You will partner with design and NPD teams to drive manufacturability (DFM, DFA, DFT), plan pilot builds, and scale production with lean manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in NPI engineering in high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes development, capacity planning and production line scaling.
• Lean knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work globally with engineering staff in multiple remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end NPI process from product development to manufacturing.
• Partner with NPD and design teams to drive DFM, DFA, and DFT.
• Plan and manage pilot builds, pre-production runs and full ramp-up for production.
• Develop, document and refine scalable manufacturing processes and line layouts using Lean principles.
• Drive standardization, cycle time reduction and throughput improvements.
• Lead cross-functional problem-solving to identify and eliminate inefficiencies and quality issues; drive PFMEA.
• Collaborate with supply chain, quality and operations to meet cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Use Lean tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen and mistake-proofing for continuous improvement.
• Design and deploy manufacturing equipment and tooling focusing on safety, quality and cost.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders and ensure sustained results.
• Travel up to 25% is preferred.
