Job summary

Pentair is seeking a Director of Engineering, NPD & VAVE in Apex, NC to lead Mechanical, Electrical, and VAVE NPD teams. You will own specification quality and drive cross-functional delivery across new product portfolios.

In this role you will partner with Product Management, ensure stage-gate reviews, and mentor a team of 25–28 engineers while shaping front-end definition and design-for-cost strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related field.
• 12+ years in new product development with 5+ years leading multiple disciplines.
• Experience with front-end spec definition and stage-gate processes.
• Exposure to VE/VA activities and governance with Product Management.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering’s specification quality at kickoff for all active NPD programs.
• Serve as the single accountable owner for technical delivery across NPD programs.
• Lead stage-gate reviews and cross-functional design reviews with PMO, NPI, SQA.
• Drive VE/VA discipline and cost-improvement initiatives across programs.
