Job summary

Pentair is seeking an NPI Mechanical Engineer in Apex, NC to launch new products into full-scale production. You will drive manufacturability, scalability, and continuous improvement from early design through ramp-up, collaborating with global teams and suppliers.

The role requires 5+ years' NPI experience in high-volume manufacturing, knowledge of Lean and DFx methods, and travel up to 25%. Base pay ranges with incentives are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 yrs of NPI engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Lean knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work globally with engineering staff across remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end NPI process from product development to manufacturing.
• Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT).
• Plan and manage pilot builds, pre-production runs, and full ramp-up activities.
• Develop scalable manufacturing processes, work instructions, and line layouts with Lean principles.
• Drive process standardization, cycle time reduction, and throughput improvement.
• Lead PFMEA activities and cross-functional problem-solving to eliminate quality issues.
• Collaborate with supply chain, quality, and operations to meet cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Utilize Lean tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen and mistake-proofing.
