Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking a New Product Introduction Mechanical Engineer to design, integrate, and sustain cable systems and interconnect solutions for both new product development and sustaining programs. You will work with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure production readiness and successful product launches.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mechanical engineering for complex assemblies, strong CAD/ GD&T skills, and experience with ECOs, BOMs, and

Competenze

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
5+ years in product development, manufacturing, systems integration or related engineering functions.
Experience with cable assemblies, harnesses, electromechanical systems, or product integration.
Proficiency with 3D CAD and 2D drafting tools (SolidWorks preferred; AutoCAD a plus).
Working knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and mechanical design principles.
Experience supporting ECOs, drawing revisions, BOM management, and configuration control.
Familiarity with product validation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies.
Experience developing fixtures, tooling, or manufacturing process improvements.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; capable of cross-functional communication.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering/business systems.
Experience with PLM, ERP, Jira, Agile, or project management tools.
Experience in aerospace/defense or AS9100-regulated manufacturing preferred.

Mansioni

Lead the design, development, and implementation of cable assemblies, harnesses, and installation solutions for new product introduction and sustaining programs.
Serve as the technical owner for cable system architecture, customer interconnects, and product integration throughout the lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful launches, production readiness, and ongoing support.
Design mechanical components, fixtures, tooling, and installation hardware to improve manufacturability and quality.
Plan and execute product verification, validation, qualification, and production testing; analyze results and implement improvements.
Drive ECOs, BOM updates, and configuration management to maintain product integrity.
Lead or support manufacturing readiness activities, product transfers, root-cause investigations, and cost-reduction initiatives.
