Job summary

Cicoil is seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead new product development from inquiry through design, validation, and handoff to manufacturing. You will interface with customers and the outside sales team to deliver expert cable and flat cable assemblies for aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial markets.

Role emphasizes NPI/APQP, requirements gathering, concept design, prototyping, quoting, design validation, and seamless transfer to Manufacturing Process Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or closely related field required.
• 5+ years in product development or applications engineering within manufacturing.
• Experience with NPI and APQP processes from concept to production release.
• Experience in cable, wire harness, electro-mechanical assembly or related product development preferred.
• Experience with technical quoting and cost estimation for custom products.
• Customer-facing experience with outside sales teams.
• Familiarity with Mil/Aerospace specs is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and the outside sales team during product development.
• Develop tailored cable and interconnect solutions based on application requirements.
• Review customer specifications and determine feasible, optimal designs.
• Provide guidance on materials, testing requirements, and compliance considerations.
• Coordinate prototypes, design validation, and handoffs to manufacturing.
• Prepare detailed technical quotes and ensure competitive, timely proposals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support NPI/APQP and handoffs.
