Job summary

Axcelis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I (Production Support) in Beverly, MA. This on-site role supports complex mechanical and electrical assemblies, with First and Second shifts and up to 25% travel for contract manufacturing and supply chain work.

Lead tooling, develop work instructions, and drive improvements using Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma methods while collaborating with Design Engineering, Quality, and Operations to enable new product introductions and cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE, ME, IE, or MFG ENG with 0–2 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and continuously improve manufacturing systems for complex assemblies.
• Provide daily support of contract manufacturing assembly and/or ion implanter system builds.
• Design, develop, and implement production tooling and fixtures to improve quality and efficiency.
• Create and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
• Drive corrections to BOMs, routings, and engineering docs to meet form, fit, and function requirements.
• Lead root-cause investigations and implement containment, corrective, and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations on NPI and changes.
