Job summary

ISC - Interconnect Solutions Company in Fountain Valley, CA seeks an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to lead new product introductions from customer order through FAI and full readiness for production. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain to review drawings, BOMs, tooling, and build processes ensuring performance, quality, and customer requirements prior to release.

This hands-on role focuses on NPI lifecycle, including DFM, process development, and risk

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, NPI Engineering, or related roles.
Strong ability to read and interpret complex assembly drawings, technical specifications, BOMs, and other customer requirements.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, process development, and production readiness in technical manufacturing environments.
Working knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and process validation techniques.
Experience interfacing with Production teams, operators, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience supporting prototype builds, pilot runs, process development, and FAI.
Experience translating customer requirements into manufacturable processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Comfortable in fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the NPI manufacturing process from customer order to production readiness.
Review customer drawings, specs, BOMs, and performance requirements to define manufacturing strategies and DFM/DFA opportunities.
Lead Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs) and address risks related to tooling, materials, processes, quality, and supply chain readiness.
Develop prototype builds, sample assemblies, pilot runs, and process development activities to validate manufacturability.
Troubleshoot build and process issues during NPI, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions for launches.
Coordinate with Quality on FAI documentation and AS9102 when applicable.
Work with Production during prototype, pilot, and early production to resolve gaps and establish repeatable methods.
Develop and maintain routers, BOMs, work instructions, and process specifications for production release.
Identify and implement tooling, fixtures, and automation for safe, efficient manufacturing.
Drive DFM/DFA improvements to improve manufacturability, yield, quality, and cost.
Coordinate engineering changes during NPI and early production and update documentation.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Procurement, Quoting and other teams for launch execution.
Identify NPI risks and drive resolution toward production readiness.
