Job summary

Teradyne in North Reading, MA is seeking a Test Process Engineer to advance hands-on production testing, test strategy development, and manufacturing readiness for electronic devices from pilot to high-volume production.

You will design test strategies across modules and systems, develop fixtures and automation, apply data-driven methods, and collaborate across engineering, software, and manufacturing to scale test processes.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Electronic, Optical, or Mechanical Engineering (2+ years test development for B.S., or MS degree).
• Knowledge of laser operation principles and safety; photonics is a plus.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, datasheets, and specs.
• Experience with measurement instruments (signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers).
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word) and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on production testing of electronic devices and validate processes.
• Design and implement test strategies across modules and full system-level testing.
• Develop, maintain, and scale test fixtures, interfaces, tooling, and automation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and manufacturing teams to deploy scalable test processes.
• Apply data-driven methods (SPC, CpK, dashboards) to improve test health.
• Document test processes, support ramping, and lead root-cause analysis.
