Job summary

MSA Safety Inc. is seeking an Engineering Project Specialist focused on Industrialization to drive NPD readiness from design through ramp.

The role involves partnering with Industrialization leaders to manage NPD deliverables, mentor as the SME in NPI process management, and maintain the Industrialization RACI framework. You will monitor KPIs, manage risk, and ensure manufacturability through close collaboration with R&D, tooling, and manufacturing engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or related field, preferably from an ABET accredited program.
• Strong project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in new product development and industrialization including line design, installation, commissioning, and production ramp up.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships in cross functional teams both domestically and internationally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create & deliver formal presentations.

Responsibilities

• Works directly with Industrialization leaders to create, update, and change NPD deliverables to ensure industrialization goals and objectives.
• Train and mentor as the SME of New Product Industrialization (NPI) Process Management.
• Support and maintain Industrialization Process RACI.
• Monitor and track manufacturing KPIs and metrics to provide baseline performance.
• Drive a comprehensive risk register of all industrialization risks and mitigations across safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Govern through auditing critical industrialization deliverables from the 3D NPD process.
• Collaborate with R&D and product designers to ensure manufacturability.
• Oversee processes to test and validate production processes against final product requirements.
