Job summary

The Pivot Group Network in Portage, MI is recruiting an NPI Engineer to drive the transfer of new products from design to manufacturing and to optimize processes for efficiency and quality.

Ideal candidates have a background in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 3+ years in NPI in manufacturing, plus strong PCB CAD skills and experience with DFx and PLM systems. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in West Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years experience in NPI within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with PCB CAD tools (Altium Designer, OrCAD, Eagle).
• Experience with DFx (DFM/DFT/ DFA) and PLM systems.
• Experience with test fixture development and validation for production environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive the successful transfer of new products from design to manufacturing.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with R&D, design, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and resolve technical issues.
• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process flows.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for NPI-related production issues.
• Participate in design reviews to provide feedback on manufacturability and assembly.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in NPI processes and tools.

• Experience with test fixture development and validation for production environments.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) for manufacturing quality.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for data analysis and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers or lead small project teams.
• Experience with simulation tools for manufacturing process optimization.
