Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is seeking an NPI Engineer in Otsego, MI. This role focuses on moving new products from design into scalable manufacturing, collaborating with R&D and production teams to ensure manufacturability and robust test methods.

You will develop processes, tooling, and equipment, perform root cause analyses, and drive validation plans to optimize yield, cost, and cycle time.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years in NPI engineering within manufacturing.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
• Strong knowledge of PCBA manufacturing and test methods.
• Experience with CAD (Altium/OrCAD) and PLM systems.
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with SPC or Lean a plus.

$73,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the successful transfer of new products from design to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and testability of new products.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment for new product introduction.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for new product manufacturing issues.
• Define and execute validation plans (IQ, OQ, PQ) for new processes and equipment.
• Optimize manufacturing processes for yield, cost, and cycle time during NPI phases.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process flow diagrams.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years experience in NPI engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing process issues.
• Strong understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes and test methodologies.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD) and PLM systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional team interaction.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) for manufacturing quality.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for data analysis and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers or lead small project teams.
