Job summary

PacBio is seeking an NPI Electrical Engineer to drive the introduction of PCBAs, cable assemblies, and related electrical hardware for DNA sequencing instruments. You will collaborate with Electrical Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and external partners from prototype to ramp, performing hands-on debugging, test development, and documentation.

The role focuses on fixture development, test coverage, and process transfer to manufacturing, requiring strong DFx awareness and cross-functional

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Typically a minimum of 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
Experience with PCBA design, bring-up, testing, or troubleshooting.
Experience designing electrical test fixtures or production test equipment.
Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Cadence/Altium preferred).
Knowledge of oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers.
Understanding of design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test principles.
Ability to document schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

Support electrical NPI activities from concept to production ramp.
Collaborate with design engineers to transition PCBAs and cables into manufacturing.
Design, build, validate, and document electrical test fixtures.
Develop schematics and PCB layouts for production test electronics.
Perform PCBA bring-up, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Maintain production test requirements, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
