Responsibilities

Keysight's Semiconductor Infrastructure Solutions (SIS) has an opening for a Prototype Model Maker/NPI CNC Milling Machinist. As a Model Maker, you will work in our model shop to provide prototype parts, custom tooling, and other components to both R&D and Order Fulfillment customers. The selected candidate must produce parts meeting customer requirements and specifications, and collaborate with engineering to identify DFM opportunities. The role requires the ability to quickly produce prototypes from a 'napkin sketch' design to a fully annotated 3D model with 2D drawings.

  • Setup and program CNC milling machines, operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, etc.
  • Work with CAD packages such as Siemens NX and CAM packages like Mastercam.
  • Use Model Shop equipment and materials safely to fabricate components, prototypes, fixtures, etc., based on verbal instructions, sketches, or 3D models.
  • Work with complex, tight tolerance parts (better than .0003").
  • Perform secondary operations such as deburring, polishing, heat-treating, etc.
  • Work with various materials including aluminum, steel, brass, and plastics like PEEK, Delrin, polycarbonate.
  • Experience with simple sheet metal parts is preferred.
  • Read and interpret drawings and files, including GD&T proficiency.
  • Ability to stand at a machine for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs safely.
  • Use computers and manufacturing software effectively.
Qualifications

  • Journeyman with at least 8 years of relevant experience and/or a technical degree, specialized training, or equivalent.
  • Strong background in CAD and CAM software.
  • Solid mathematical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take ownership, and complete tasks accurately and on time.
  • Flexible, with a willingness to reprioritize to support customer needs.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Team-oriented, able to collaborate and troubleshoot with other machinists.

Pay Range: USD $64,310.00 - USD $107,180.00 per year

Note: Pay ranges vary by region for other locations.

This role is eligible for the Keysight Results Bonus Program.
