Job summary

Colonial Group seeks an NPI Engineer to transition new connector, cable assembly, wire harness, and electromechanical products from design to production, ensuring manufacturability, quality, cost, and on-time delivery. This role bridges customers, design, operations, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing for seamless launches and scalable production.

The position leads DFM, tooling, work instructions, validation testing, and production readiness for harsh environment markets including oil &

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
Minimum 5 years in connector manufacturing or related industrial manufacturing.
Experience with NPI from concept to production.
Experience in harsh environment or hazardous location products preferred.
ISO 9001 knowledge.
Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred.
CAD experience with SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD or equivalent.
Experience in low-volume/high-mix environments.
Microsoft Office and ERP proficiency.

Responsibilities

Lead new product introductions from engineering release through production launch.
Review drawings and specs for manufacturability.
Develop scalable manufacturing processes and routings.
Create BOMs, process docs, and work instructions.
Coordinate prototype builds and pilot production.
Manage ECOs through product lifecycle.
Drive Lean/Kaizen to reduce waste and lead times.
