Job summary
Figure, an AI robotics company based in San Jose, seeks an NPI Buyer/Planner to own material readiness for PCBAs and components across EVT to ramp. You will bridge Engineering and Supply Chain, converting immature BOMs into actionable, time-phased material plans while managing lead times and risk buys for prototype builds.
You will collaborate daily with Design Engineering, NPI, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Quality and Logistics to ensure clear-to-build status and on-time deliveries in a
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years in buying, planning, or materials management, with at least 2 years supporting NPI or prototype builds.
- ERP/MRP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and PLM tools (Arena, Enovia).
- Advanced Excel (XLOOKUP, pivot tables) and familiarity with SQL/BI tools.
Responsibilities
- Own material readiness for NPI programs from EVT/DVT to pilot builds and handoff to production.
- Convert evolving BOMs into time-phased material plans and close gaps with Eng.
- Lead RFQ-to-PO cycle for prototype/pilot material and manage supplier commitments.
- Maintain BOM master data, lead times, and transition documentation for ERP.
- Collaborate with Design, NPI, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Quality and Logistics for build-readiness.
