Job summary

Figure AI in San Jose, CA, seeks an NPI Buyer/Planner to own material readiness for new product introductions from EVT to mass production. You’ll convert evolving BOMs into time-phased requirements and drive risk buys for long-lead parts, coordinating with design, manufacturing, and global supply chain teams to keep pilot builds on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience.
• 3–5 years in buying, planning, or materials management with NPI/prototype experience.
• Experience with complex electromechanical hardware and immature BOMs.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and PLM tools; strong Excel and data skills.

Responsibilities

• NPI Material Planning: convert build plans into time-phased material requirements.
• Tactical Purchasing: own RFQ-to-PO cycle for prototype and pilot material.
• Change and Configuration Mgmt: manage ECOs and deviations through to production.
• Build Execution Support: coordinate with GSMs on consignment materials and inventory.
• Transition to Production: hand off history and lead times for ramp.
• Process Improvement: identify failure points and improve reporting and handoffs.
