Job summary

JPW Industries in La Vergne, TN is seeking an NPD Test Engineer to own test methods, fixture design, and instrumented testing across new product development. You will drive root cause investigations and provide engineering feedback to improve products and processes.

You will design fixtures, run complex tests, and document results, acting as the technical authority for JPW's testing strategy. This role requires hands-on testing experience and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on product testing in machinery or industrial equipment.
• Experience building test plans and methods from specifications.
• CAD modeling and fixture design experience (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong instrumentation knowledge (load cells, accelerometers, sound meters).
• Ability to interpret drawings, GD&T, and technical specs.
• Familiar with RCA, FMEA, DOE, Six Sigma principles.
• Clear technical writing and project management skills.
• Willing to travel to JPW locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design test methods and acceptance criteria for NPD and existing programs.
• Design load-bearing, safety-critical, and instrumented test fixtures.
• Conduct complex instrumented testing and lead root cause investigations.
• Author test reports with methodology, data, conclusions, and design recommendations.
• Direct the Lab Test Technician, manage calibration, and improve lab methods.
