Job summary

Vortex Optics is seeking a Project Manager for New Product Development to drive product planning and cross-functional execution across internally manufactured and sourced goods. You will define product vision, gather requirements, and work with Manufacturing and Marketing to deliver winning products.

You’ll lead cross-functional teams, manage lifecycle stages, validate designs with Engineering and prototyping, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining quality and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, optical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years Project Management experience with multiple NPD projects.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and design review.
• Strong ability to analyze complex data and develop solutions.
• Excellent written and presentation skills.
• Experience in low volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Drive product roadmaps and execution to meet strategic goals.
• Maintain NPD tracking and documentation across multiple projects.
• Ensure new products meet quality, schedule and cost targets.
• Collaborate with Marketing to understand customer insights and trends.
• Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Design, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
• Translate market insights into actionable product requirements.
• Lead focus groups to refine new product concepts.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to align manufacturing with product needs.
• Support Sales and Supply Chain in demand planning for new products.
• Travel to vendors and factories domestically and internationally as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
