Job summary

JPW Industries in La Vergne, TN seeks a QA Test Technician to bridge ideas and products by testing prototypes, collecting data, and delivering actionable insights to engineers. The role blends lab work with shop floor activities in a fast-paced NPD environment.

The candidate will own testing setups, generate credible reports, and help drive design changes to improve durability, safety, and manufacturability. On-site with potential for process improvement contributions.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical or associate's degree preferred but not required.
• Certifications: ASQ CQT or a similar quality certification preferred.
• Experience: 4+ years of hands-on product testing, quality assurance, or manufacturing support in machinery/tools.
• Technical Skill: Read engineering drawings and specifications; use test equipment like multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Quality Methods: Experience with Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and Six Sigma principles.
• Hands-On Ability: Strong mechanical aptitude; able to operate testing equipment; PCB assembly/debug is a plus.
• Tools: Proficient with CAD software and Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
• Communication: Clear written documentation; present test status in cross-functional settings.
• Work Environment: On-site role in La Vergne, TN; lift up to 50 lbs; standing; industrial shop; steel toe shoes.

Responsibilities

• Test prototypes and evaluate against design specs (mechanical, electrical, functional).
• Assemble and evaluate complex electro-mechanical products using drawings.
• Analyze results and provide feedback to design engineers.
• Perform inspections of components and assemblies against quality standards.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for defects.
