Job summary

CPS Technologies Corporation is seeking a New Product Development Engineer – Advanced Materials & Emerging Technologies for an on-site role in Norton, MA. You will bridge R&D and production, maturing processes from lab to controlled manufacturing ready for initial product release.

The ideal candidate has a materials engineering background and hands-on experience with process maturation, DOE, and scaling production, including instrumentation and tooling development for repeatable manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BS in Materials Science & Engineering or similar discipline is required.
• MS with 2+ years experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable modeling software.
• Experience in product introduction and process maturation with scale-up.
• Ability to work safely with industrial processing equipment and materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute process maturation plans with criteria and milestones.
• Translate lab procedures into production processes with defined parameters and controls.
• Design and conduct experiments (DOE) to identify critical parameters and windows.
• Develop production tooling, fixtures, and material handling methods.
• Establish process flow, equipment, material needs, cycle times, and controls.
• Identify material, product, and process characteristics and monitor them during manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Manufacturing, and Quality to support cost estimates and quotations.
