Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the NICU to provide patient-centered, coordinated care in collaboration with the hospital team. The role supports leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation, coaching, research, and ethical decision-making.

The position requires an NLN/AACN accredited NP/PA education, NP degree, and NICU fellowship. NJ licensure, BLS, and prescriptive authority are mandatory, with an on-call commitment and

Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Job description

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.

NNP required or NNP eligible, PA should have completed a NICU fellowship.

Weekends and holidays as needed.
On-call committment required.

Licenses and Certifications Required: 1. NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License. 2. Advanced Nurse Practitioner (w/ Master's Degree). 3. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification. 4. Board certified by AANP or ANCC. 5. NNP eligible

5. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Required Qualifications

• Education:

  • Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
  • NICU fellowship

• Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant License.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

• Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer platforms, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
