Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in Emergency Room, RRT, Critical Care Medicine or Inpatient Medicine.

The APN/PA will work in a patient-centered, coordinated care model and collaborate with physicians and hospital teams to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. Licensure, certifications, and ongoing CE are required as detailed in the posting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited NP program.
• NPI and prescriptive authority per NJ law.
• Current licensure as NJ RN and APN; BLS and ACLS.
• Certification by AANP/ANCC and NCCPA.
• Proficient with MS Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care in collaboration with the hospital team.
• Assess, plan, and implement care for patients across ER, RRT, critical care, or inpatient medicine.
• Maintain up-to-date clinical competencies through CE and practice.

Job description

Hiring an per diem DAY Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in Emergency Room, RRT, Critical Care Medicine or Inpatient Medicine.

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program. 2. Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. 3. Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice. 4. Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate). 5. National Provider Identifier (NPI). 6. Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law. 7. Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 9. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Licenses and Certifications Required: 1. NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License. 2. Advance Practice Nurse License. 3. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification. 4. Board certified by AANP or ANCC.5. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Required Qualifications

• Education:

• Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.

• Licensure & Certifications:

• Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant License.

• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

• AHA Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

• Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with computer platforms, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
