Hackensack Meridian Health’s Observation Unit seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to lead patient-centered care across cardiac service lines, including Observation, HF/MI, and Cath lab.

The role requires 3+ years in acute care, NJ NP/PA licensure, ACLS/BLS, and board certification. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential to coordinate care and support ethical practice in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA per NJ state law.
  • Board certification by AANP or ANCC.

  • Provide per diem evening and weekend coverage as required.

Job description

The Observation Unit Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies

in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making.

The NP or PA works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. The

position will cover multiple cardiac service lines where needed (Observation, HF/MI, and Cath lab).

  • -Minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care setting (hospital-based experience)

  • -Cardiology experience strongly preferred

  • -Current APP licensure and certification (ACNP or PA) in good standing

  • -Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

  • -Excellent communication skills, proven team player, ability to multitask and prioritize, and proactive and creative problem-solver with a

  • focus on process improvement, care coordination, and patient-centered solutions.

authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law. 7. Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff. 8.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 9. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or

Google Suite platforms. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. Not Applicable. Licenses and Certifications Required: 1. NJ

Required Qualifications
Education:

Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.

Licensure & Certifications:

Current, unrestricted New Jersey Physician Assistant License.

Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with computer platforms, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
