Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to float across solid tumor divisions in a busy oncology outpatient setting. You will collaborate with breast, thoracic, GI, sarcoma/melanoma, head and neck, and GU teams to assess, plan, and implement patient care.

Requirements include an NLN/AACN accredited NP program, and a Master’s or Doctorate in NP with prescriptive authority and ongoing competencies. This role involves 4–10 hour days with rotating days off.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program.
• NLN/AACN accredited nursing program completion.

Responsibilities

• Float across solid tumor divisions (breast, thoracic, GI, sarcoma/melanoma, head & neck, GU) to support clinics.

Job description

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.

Seeking experienced Nurse Practitioner solid tumor diseases to float between divisions such as breast, thoracic, GI, sarcoma/melanoma, head and neck, GU.

The Nurse Practitioner will serve as an APN float in a busy solid tumor oncology outpatient facility -GI/Thoracic, breast, woman's health.
4 -10 hour days with day off rotating depending on needs of clinic.

Oncology experience preferred
Oncology certification a plus

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• Advance Practice Nurse License.
• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• Board certified by AANP or ANCC.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
