Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
• New York State License with current registration as a registered nurse. Certification in specialty area preferred.
• 5 years directly related experience (some supervisory preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversees clinical operations within the program and uses data to improve processes and outcomes.
• Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, disciplines, and evaluates staff.
• Develops, maintains and reconciles departmental budget with fiscal oversight.
• Plans, develops, and maintains departmental standard operating procedures.
• Coordinates educational and performance improvement activities with Nursing, Medical and Quality Leadership.
• Develops action plans to support clinical performance and competency with education resources.
• Establishes and implements short and long-term goals, policies and procedures for high performance.
• Coordinates and leads daily educational program activities aligned with objectives.
• Oversees collection and analysis of clinical program data to evaluate performance.
• Provides technical assistance, resources, consultation and education to clinical services.
• Serves as a clinical role model and resource to nursing staff.
• Prepares reports on orientation and ongoing competency of staff.
• Provides status reports on results and identifies patterns requiring action.
• Collaborates with health care teams to review policies and standards of care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and regulatory standards; supports surveys.
• Participates in budget-conscious activities and resource allocation.
• Maintains ongoing professional knowledge through education and professional networks.

Education

Master's Degree in Nursing

New York State License with current registration as a registered professional nurse

NP Certification in specialty area preferred
