Job summary

ESS is seeking long-term substitute teachers to support the Allentown School District in Allentown, PA. Substitutes follow lesson plans, provide instruction, and ensure classroom routines are maintained.

Qualified candidates must hold a PA teaching certificate and complete the required clearances and trainings (Act 24/34/114/151/126/71/168), plus TB testing; in some areas a physical may be required. This role offers district-wide opportunities within ESS's staffing network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and PA Teacher Certification required.
• Act 24 clearance (Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification) required.
• Act 34 State Police Criminal History Clearance required.
• Act 114 Federal Criminal History Clearance required.
• Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training required.
• Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance required.
• Act 71 Suicide Prevention Training required.
• Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release required.
• Tuberculosis Test required.
• Physical exam may be required in some areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent.
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration.

Substitute Teacher
