Job summary

ESS is seeking substitute teachers in Harrisburg, PA to cover in K-12 classrooms. Compensation is $140 per day with the ability to choose your schedule. Responsibilities include following lesson plans and supporting student learning while the regular teacher is absent.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and required clearances; ESS partners with district schools to provide flexible daily, long-term, and permanent placements across the country.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, PA teacher certification or education majors meeting Act 86 requirements.
• Clearances and training as listed (Acts 24, 34, 114; Acts 126, 151, 168) and TB test/physical.
• Must meet Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration

Substitute Teacher

An ESSsubstitute teacherassists with classroom instruction in the absence of a regularteacher. This person follows and teaches lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that regular classroom routines are followed.
