Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support kitchen operations in our facility. You will learn the food service routine quickly, assist with meal tray assembly, serving, and dishwashing, and help maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment under the supervision of the Cook and Dietary supervisor.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to food handling procedures, with opportunities to participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handler's certificate.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to work in a team and in a kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine quickly.
• Set up meal trays and serve meals.
• Unload returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwasher at shift start.
• Monitor dishwasher temperatures during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors.
• Take out trash and garbage.
• Store groceries safely.
• Keep the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook/supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel from all departments.
