Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support food service operations. You will learn routines quickly, set up meal trays, assist with serving, and ensure a clean kitchen environment. You will work under the Cook and Dietary supervisor and participate in training of dietary staff to maintain high standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read procedures/recipes, and effective communication with managers and staff. A food handlers’ certificate is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine.
• Observe dishwasher temperatures during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away safely and neatly.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
• Collaborate with other departments.
