Job summary

HDR is seeking an Area Transportation Market Sector Leader to join our North Carolina team. Based in Raleigh, you will lead client relationships and drive market sector growth across HDR's transportation services.

You will plan, direct, and monitor key projects, develop pursuit strategies, and collaborate with leadership to secure major contracts while promoting HDR's values and employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, planning or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
• Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services.
• Experience in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits.
• Experience in overall staff development including recruiting, career path and professional growth.
• Experience with industry associations and maintaining a visible profile in the market sector.
• Ability to work cooperatively with Regional Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers.
• Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and active participation in our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a client manager and project manager for key clients in the area.
• Identify and qualify pursuit opportunities.
• Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of key projects to support a positive client experience.
• Assess the marketplace and determine the best approach to secure contracts.
• Promote the marketing and delivery of HDR services to clients.
• Develop and implement market sector growth initiatives with leadership and client service managers.
• Work with pursuit teams to develop client and pursuit strategies based on proven capture techniques.
• Participate in industry associations and community organizations to elevate HDR's brand in target markets.
• Identify investments to improve our industry leadership position.
• Develop relationships with senior leadership in key client organizations.
• Partner with leadership on recruiting key talent.
• Monitor market sector performance indicators and goals.
• Engage project management and technical talent in pursuit teams.
• Support pursuit teams in developing persuasive proposals and interview materials.
• Facilitate debriefs to identify improvement opportunities and measure competitiveness.
• Support content marketing campaigns to strengthen our brand and visibility.
