Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Human Resource Payroll Manager III to oversee end-to-end payroll for employees across the United States and Canada, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance. The role requires advanced expertise in US and Canadian payroll processing and tax compliance, and leadership of a payroll team.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ADP Workforce Now and Oracle HCM Cloud, HRIS integrations, and a focus on process improvement to drive automation

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of progressive payroll experience with leadership or management.
• Experience with U.S. and Canadian payroll processing and tax compliance.
• CPP or PCP certification preferred.
• Advanced experience with ADP Workforce Now and/or ADP GlobalView.
• Experience with Oracle HCM Cloud payroll data management, integrations, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of payroll systems, HRIS integrations, payroll reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience driving payroll process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulations.
• Manage payroll schedules, reconciliations, reporting cycles, filings, and remittances.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and external payroll vendors to ensure payroll data integrity and seamless system integration.
• Monitor changes to U.S. and Canadian payroll legislation and tax regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Support and lead payroll-related audits, internal controls, and risk mitigation efforts.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team while promoting accountability, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and technology enhancements to improve payroll accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor payroll KPIs and SLAs and provide reporting and strategic insights to senior leadership.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related questions, escalations, and business initiatives.
