Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Edison, NJ is seeking an Ocean Freight Procurement Manager for North and Central America. You will lead negotiations, manage carrier relationships, and optimize export freight strategies across NA, Mexico, and Central America, with a footprint of 45,000 TEUs.

We seek a results-driven professional with 5–7 years in ocean freight procurement, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to drive cost efficiencies across global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
• 5–7 years in ocean freight procurement or related roles.
• Experience negotiating ocean freight contracts and pricing.
• Knowledge of NA market, trade lanes, and carrier networks.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Secure ocean transport needs for North America, Mexico, and Central America export lanes.
• Analyze tradelanes supply and demand, freight indices, and market trends.
• Manage relationships with ocean carriers to execute negotiations and strategies.
• Lead tendering processes from bids to spot buying and long-term contracts.
• Coordinate with internal teams for policy, contracts, and performance follow-up.
• Provide pricing guidance to local and central accounts and tenders.
• Develop annual volume and spend analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in Global Sales and Corporate Account tenders.
• Support USA import flows with BECS service contracts negotiation.
