Job summary

International Justice Mission seeks a Director of Finance & Accounting for North America to lead US accounting operations, oversee month-end close, payroll, tax filings, and support audits. The role collaborates with Global Finance and HR to implement strong internal controls and financial processes.

The position requires CPA or advanced degree, 8–10 years in accounting/audit with international development experience, and strong Workday proficiency.

Qualifications

• Licensed CPA or advanced degree in accounting preferred but not required.
• 8–10 years of experience as an accounting or audit manager, including five or more years in an international development environment.
• Superior knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations.
• Experience with electronic financial systems and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct a team of accountants and payroll staff and manage department objectives.
• Lead US month-end and year-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee US statutory and tax filings, W-2, 1099, and related reporting.
• Support Form 990 filing and annual external audits.
• Own Workday financial operations for US operations.
