Job summary

International Justice Mission (IJM) in Arlington, VA, seeks a Director of US Accounting & Operations to lead US accounting, payroll, tax filings and reporting. This hybrid role requires collaboration with Global Finance and management of US controls and processes.

The position offers cross‑functional leadership, a focus on policy implementation, and interaction with senior stakeholders. Hybrid onsite two days weekly in the DC area; U.S. work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Licensed CPA or advanced degree preferred.
• 8–10 years in accounting or audit management, incl. 5+ years in international development environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations.

Responsibilities

• Direct a team of accountants and payroll staff, overseeing US close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee US statutory and tax filings and 1099/W-2 processes.
• Coordinate with Global Finance on monthly transactions and reporting for the US entity.
• Ensure internal controls and policies across US locations are effective and compliant.
