Job summary

Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, is seeking a Nordic Spa Housekeeping Manager to oversee the Nordic Spa facilities, ensure top-level cleanliness, and lead the Spa Attendant team.

You will work with the General Manager and Maintenance Manager to uphold safety, quality standards, and budget; provide coaching and training, recruit staff, and improve guest experiences in a dynamic mountain resort environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in a progressively senior role leading a housekeeping/cleaning department.
• Preference for those with experience in the hotel, hospitality, or aquatic industry.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Recognized team player and a self-starter with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in Windows, PMS, and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supervises the Spa Housekeeping Team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Collaborates with the General Manager and Maintenance Manager to develop and implement strategies and procedures for improving cleanliness and maintenance standards.
• Directs cleaning operations to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across all spa areas.
• Maintains a visible presence in daily operations to support quality first impressions for guests.
• Develops and manages the department budget in coordination with the General Manager and accounting team.
• Oversees performance reviews, scheduling, payroll, forecasting, and inventory management.
• Ensures productivity goals are met while seeking cost and labor efficiency.
• Recruits, trains, and mentors staff to meet company standards of quality, service, and productivity.
• Provides resources, training, direction, coaching, and feedback to team members for their development.
• Addresses and resolves guest issues and complaints effectively using problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Champions safety protocols and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Assists in recruitment, financial reviews, expense tracking, and other fiscal activities as needed.
• Collaborates with external vendors to ensure cost efficiency and quality in sourcing of products.
• Develops and implements deep cleaning practices to maintain equipment longevity.
• Leads by example with a hands-on approach to spa cleanliness duties.

Our Nordic Spa experiences are created to be as individual as each of our guests. Rather than an exercise in structure and conformity, our guests should feel that our spas are thoughtfully restful and physically comfortable. As the Nordic Spa Housekeeping Manager, you are responsible for the overall cleanliness, detail, servicing, resources, and care of the entire Nordic spa facility. You will lead the Spa Attendant department in ensuring all spa facilities and pool deck are kept to the highest standard while working in partnership with Maintenance Manager to ensure the pool water quality is clean and in accordance with our brand and Provincial Regulatory standards.

Tasks & Responsibilites

Working Conditions

This position will be required for various shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with employees, guests, and other stakeholders. Working outdoors in a variety of Mountain weather conditions, with average temperatures ranging from –22f to +86f. Visual ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operations, and detect situations of concern regarding areas such as employee performance, grooming, training, and policy adherence.
