Job summary

Royal Gorge Cross Country, Sugar Bowl's Nordic ski area in Soda Springs, CA, seeks a Ski School & Events Manager to lead staff, schedule grooming and events, and drive sponsorships. This senior role requires extensive Nordic experience, strong leadership, and a passion for delivering high-quality guest experiences.

Responsibilities include directing ski team activities, managing budgets, and coordinating race operations, with a focus on safety and operational excellence in a busy winter

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Nordic ski industry experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Nordic trail grooming, maintenance and equipment.
• Experience as Nordic race director, USSA coach, or Technical Delegate.
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Proven ability to recruit and staff cross-country departments.
• Working knowledge of ski resort operations, grooming, and racecourse maintenance.
• Comfort delivering front-line training.
• Skilled at solving practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrams or schedules.

Responsibilities

• Hire, orient, train, direct, motivate, evaluate staff and oversee schedules.
• Manage operations to meet annual operating and capital budgets.
• Secure event sponsorship and manage sponsor deliverables.
• Set race and event grooming schedules with Director/Assistant Manager.
• Coordinate and schedule all ski team activities.
• Coordinate area setup for races, events and promotions.
• Maintain expert knowledge of cross-country trends and equipment.
• Assist in planning racecourse layout, maintenance and repair.
• Assist with snow removal and related tasks.
