Job summary

Fruitport Community Schools in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Noon Supervisor to oversee student activities during lunch and dismissal periods. This role requires strong supervision, positive behavior management, and basic first aid skills.

The position runs 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday on student days, with the option for additional breakfast/lunch hours. Candidates should have a high school diploma and prefer prior experience with elementary students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience with elementary students is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise drop-off routine: manage student behaviors during breakfast in the cafeteria, in the drop-off lane, and on the playground.
• Supervise lunch: manage student behaviors, wash tables, and escort students to recess.
• Supervise recess: patrol the playground and assist with lineup and transitions.
• Proactively build student relationships to mitigate misbehavior and reinforce STAR values/expectations.
• Use school-wide incentives (STAR Tickets) to acknowledge positive behavior.
• Document and report student misbehavior and assist with minor first aid as needed.
• Work outdoors in winter conditions and perform other duties as assigned by administration.

LOCATION: Shettler Elementary, 2187 Shettler Rd., Muskegon, MI 49444

POSITION: Noon Supervisor

HOURS: Monday-Friday – Student Days Only

3 hours per day, 15 hours per week

11:45 am to 2:45 pm

Option to pick up additional hours for breakfast/lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience with elementary students is preferred.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Supervise drop-off routine: manage student behaviors, breakfast in the cafeteria, drop-off lane, and playground.
• Supervise lunch: manage student behaviors, wash tables, dismiss students to recess, etc.
• Supervise recess: manage student behaviors, actively patrol the playground, dismiss students to line spots, etc.
• Proactively build student relationships to mitigate student behaviors.
• Hold students accountable to our STAR values/expectations.
• Use school-wide incentives to acknowledge positive student behavior (STAR Tickets).
• Subjectively respond to and record student misbehavior.
• Assist students with minor first aid.
• Work outside in winter conditions.
• Other duties as assigned by the school administration.
