Job summary

Healthy Start Inc. is seeking an accounting professional to maintain specific financial processes for a nonprofit in Allegheny County. You will support month-end close, grant budgeting, and regulatory reporting while upholding internal controls and accuracy.

The role requires 3+ in-office days in a hybrid arrangement and offers a starting salary of $50,000–$60,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks desktop and/or online preferred.
• Non-profit accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and ability to prepare financial reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of payroll processing and Excel/Word.
• Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances are required.
• PA driver's license and valid automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain internal control environment and compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Process accounts payable, expense reports, credit card transactions, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare weekly billings to funding sources as assigned.
• Assist with annual audit preparation and tax/compliance filings including Form 990.
• Assist with agency budget, grant budgets, schedules and monthly financial information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
