Futures First is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage general fund accounting and nonprofit financial reporting. You will maintain the ledger, handle grant records, and support program directors with financial insights.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in fund accounting, GAAP, and nonprofit reporting, plus experience coordinating with auditors and external grantors. This on-site role offers growth and visibility within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of related experience; other combinations may be considered.
• Nonprofit experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Performs general fund accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Prepares monthly nonprofit financial statements and reports.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Manages grant records, communicates information, and insights to Program Directors.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable or grant drawdowns, and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance, gathers necessary account information, and documents to perform annual audit, agency 990 and annual report.
• Works with Program Directors to create grant budgets.
• Files grant reports with federal, state, and local government agencies, and other grantors.
• Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Continue professional education by participating in webinars, workshops, and networking events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
