Job summary

United Way of North Central New Mexico is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support the Finance team with pledge processing, general accounting, and donor relations at our Albuquerque office. This role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and collaboration across departments.

The position is hourly, non-exempt, full-time with a hybrid work arrangement. Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree in business/finance and nonprofit accounting experience, plus strong Excel and data-entry skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or equivalent preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a Finance or Accounting Department.
• Proficient in Excel and Finance software applications.
• Nonprofit Accounting experience preferred.
• Strong data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Process pledge entries and maintain donor database.
• Assist with routine accounts payable/receivable and general ledger tasks.
• Help with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Respond to routine accounting questions from staff and donors.
• Support audit, grants, budgeting, and financial reporting requests.
• Train and supervise Investor Relations staff on pledge enveloping.
