Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio Careers is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for programs, grants, contracts, and agencies. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will supervise and train program accountants and finance staff while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial management.

You will coordinate monthly close, monitor grant spend, review budgets and financial reports, support payroll allocations, and maintain Project IDs and databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in accounting/finance, preferably nonprofit or grant-funded, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with federal grants/contracts and Sage Intacct strongly preferred.
• Reliable transportation; valid driver license and insurance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting; detail oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly close and monitor grant/contract spending.
• Direct preparation and coordination of financial reports for funders, monitors, and auditors.
• Review payroll allocations and ensure accurate labor distribution to departments and programs.
• Maintain Project IDs and coding structures aligned with budgets and funding sources.
• Provide training and supervision to Program Accountants and finance staff; ensure timely close and reporting.
