Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Budget Specialist responsible for developing, monitoring, and analyzing program, grant, and organizational budgets.

This role partners with program leadership, finance staff, and business development to prepare grant budgets, contract budgets, budget modifications, funding proposals, financial reports, and budget narratives. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit budgeting and grant financial management experience, government funding familiarity,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, grant budgeting, or grant management, preferably in a non-profit or human services environment.
• May consider a combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience developing and managing grant and contract budgets.
• Experience working with federal, state, local government, and/or foundation funder programs preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Ability to analyze complex financial information and prepare clear financial reports.
• Experience preparing budget narratives and responding to funding opportunities preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Candidates may be asked to provide examples of budget reports, budget narratives, grant budgets, or other work products that demonstrates relevant budgeting and financial analysis experience, with confidential information redacted.

Responsibilities

• Budget, monitor, and analyze program, grant, and organizational budgets.

• Support funding opportunities by developing accurate cost projections and ensuring compliance with grant and contract requirements.
